The Malek's
Fishermen Band
is one of the finest polka bands in the Midwest; and continue the great
tradition of dance music excellence started by Syl Malek in
the
1930's with Syl's, "Malek's Accordion Band". The modern Malek's Fishermen Band
plays a wide range of dance music that includes Country, Big
Band,
and Dixieland as well as Polkas, Waltzes, Schottisches and more that
are traditional midwestern old time music, dance hall favorites.
The Malek's
Fishermen Band
has its own distinctive sound that is a favorite of dancers and
listeners throughout the Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin
region. Over the years, they have recorded several albums, and are more
often than not found at Polka Fests in this four state
region.
