We had a nice Evening at the Woodland retirement home in West Des Moines. The demo got started around 7 Pm with a polka dance. Several people from the polka club went out to dance. The crowd was pretty excited when Kathy and I walked in the room, they all clapped to our appearance. We where dressed in our Bavarian satire. I was decked out in my Lederhosen with my Bavarian hoot and Kathy was in her Bavarian maiden's dress. Everybody was complimenting us on our appearance.

We then joined in the dance with the polka. Vern was doing an excellent job as MC. He had a pretty tight venue. We did some waltzes and a couple fox trots and line dances. As you can see from the pictures Nellie was dancing her best. She sure held the crowd's attention.

We had a group of about 26 polka members attend this demo. A good turn out it was. Everybody had a good time and we sure inspired many of the residents at Woodland. We continued the demo for about an hour. We walked around and talked to some of the residents. They sure like us to come out and entertain them with our dancing and music. We look forward to the next visit. If anyone reading this article would be interested in participating in one of our demos please contact us and sign up. It's a lot of fun and good feeling about what we do.
