Pictures At the Croatian Center Des Moines

  Hi polka friends,

We attended another fine dance Saturday night (August 16th, 2008) at the Croatian Fraternal Slavic Center on the south side of Des Moines. There were several people from the polka club there. I wish more could have attended. It’s these dances that attract good bands to our area. The more we support these events the more the bands will come. Kathy and I were out on the floor dancing to a lot of songs. We were accompanied by Paul and Marilyn Herrick at our table. Nellie West was also there and Kathy danced several dances with her. We all enjoyed the evening of music by Jerry Beauchamp. A lot of the music was old time and fox trots but he did throw in several polkas. We need a few good polkas to keep us healthy. The Croation is located on the south side of Des Moines on Indianola Avenue. They have a polka band every 3rd Saturday of the month. It is a real nice place to go and have a great time. As you can see from above it's a fun place to meet people and dance. Hope to see you all there next month.
