Central Chapter Activities and Information

Central Chapter Meetings:
Central Chapter meetings are the 1st Tuesday of each month (except for the May Breakfast/Installation of Officers, and the December Holiday Party/Meeting) at the Country Kitchen Restaurant on NE 14th Street in Des Moines. (Intersection of I80 & highway 69) For regular monthly meetings at the Country Kitchen Restaurant, the meal is at 5:30PM with the meeting starting at approximately 6:00PM.  Check the Polka Club Hot Line for details about the May and December special events.

Dance Opportunities:
Dance demos are performed on a regular basis at local area nursing homes, retirement homes, groups and clubs as well as special festivals such as the Iowa State Fair.  More information on local dances, as well as performances, is available by calling the Polka Club Hot Line telephone number: 515-993-3805 or checking the information in the Polka Club Newsletter. 

Dance Practices:
Dance practices for everyone are held the 3rd Thursday of each month from 7 to 8:30PM at the Northside Senior Center, 2nd & Euclid in Des Moines.  Beginners learn the dances including novelty dances.  All dances are reviewed and new dances learned each month.
